CHA New Health Series Training Course: Music for Health and Healing

May 7 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm (Pacific Time)
Virtual Event
$20.00 – $30.00

This unique, powerful and memorable training session will be hosted by Clinical Counsellor and Certified Music Therapist Katherine Wright. This online session will demonstrate how you can use music as a tool to improve many health challenges, including cognitive, physical and emotional issues and it is effective for all ages.

Have you ever wondered why people who stutter, can sing without stuttering? Or why people with dementia always seem to remember all the words to the songs from their youth? The aesthetic beauty of music can stir so many emotions in us, and when used in other ways, music can do so much more.

As more research is published, we continually are learning about how music is processed in the brain, and how it helps with pain, depression, anxiety, the nervous system, and movement. Join this course to learn about using music to improve health in a variety of areas.

This ‘Music for Health and Healing’ evening course will demonstrate how to use music as a tool to improve many health challenges, including cognitive, physical and emotional issues, experienced by all ages. Participants can expect to learn how to use music functionally to improve quality of life. The course will be experiential and include some demonstrations of music for relaxation, and guided imagery and music. Participants will do best with a quiet space, a place to lie down, and paper for drawing a mandala.
