Crisis as Transformational Opportunity Part 1: The Chrysalis, by Dr. Dorle Kneifel, CHA President

This month marks 6 years since I set out to find Dr. Stephen Malthouse. I knew nothing about him except for having read his open letter to Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C.’s Public Health Officer in October of 2020. His letter expressed the exact concerns I held regarding the ‘covid culture’ restrictions that had been suddenly and forcefully imposed on us all beginning in March 2020.

I had practiced Family Medicine for the preceding 29 years in the Kitsilano neighbourhood of Vancouver, and was anticipating many more years of doing what I loved and what I was good at. That was until the March 2020 nightmare began.

The news broadcast terrifying images and stories of overflowing hospitals and an avalanche of deaths. Weekly directives from Public Health dictated how we were to run our medical practices. No in-office visits. Then PCR tests, face masks, room dividers, social distancing, single patients only in the office, and hand sanitizers. Public health bombarded us with contradictory and often nonsensical requirements. Then there were the onsite office inspections by WorkSafe BC. And fines. The College of Physician and Surgeons sent letters, designed to intimidate and ensure compliance.

Yet in both my personal and professional life I saw no evidence of a pandemic anywhere. No one knew anyone who had died of Covid or was in an ICU due to Covid. Not in my medical practice. Not in my extensive network of family, friends and colleagues. Not locally. Not internationally. (One young friend reported that she had heard that a distant elderly relative of hers had died of covid in a small village in India). That was it..

Needless to say, practicing medicine had suddenly become extremely stressful (and not due to any significant change in the health status of my patients).

So I felt some relief when I read Stephen’s letter and was eager to speak with him.

After locating Stephen via a series of phone calls, our conversation confirmed our shared concerns and informed me that I was far from alone. There were many many physicians and other health professionals across Canada and around the world who had recognized the psy-op we were all experiencing. Around the same time I was asked to join the Board of Directors of a national organization that was being formed, namely the Canada Health Alliance, to forge a new path forward for healthcare in Canada. While my life aspirations had not included being a Director of any organization, I accepted the offer given my credentials as a physician, my good standing in the community, and my recognition that something very ominous was afoot and ‘all hands on deck’ were required. So I rolled up my sleeves and joined the CHA in the Spring of 2021.

A roller coaster of experiences populated my next 2 years The CHA created 3 videos to bring a different perspective to the perceived Covid threat. Called ‘Canadian Physicians Speak Out”, the first video outlined a number of reasons not to be afraid of Covid. I spoke to things we could all do to strengthen our immune system like eating wholesome foods, taking Vitamin D, Vitamin C and Zinc, spending time in nature, and so on. These videos (like many others) were scrubbed off YouTube within 20 minutes of posting. In addition, the College of Physicians came after me for spreading ‘misinformation’. What had been accepted science before March 2020, was now misinformation.

With the continued intensification of this internationally-coordinated fear campaign, lockdowns, indiscriminate injection of the mRNA product into a traumatized, threatened, and bewildered population, including pregnant women and children, I knew my time as a physician here had come to an end. I closed my medical practice. I handed in my medical licence. And I left Canada.

Without knowing it, into the Chrysalis I went.
