Message From The Editor

Since Alan Brough is on the road (literally), THE CHA REPORT this week is doing something different. We are asking YOU to do the reporting.

When we started planning to change to a biweekly format (and give Alan a hard-earned break), numerous questions arose about the role of the CHA newsletter in providing readers with up-to-date, factual, useful information. We realized that, without your feedback, those questions could not be honestly answered.

So, this newsletter is really a survey – an opportunity for you to help us to do a better job. It’s up to you: praise or complain about the newsletter in as much detail as you like, so we can fix or leave things as they are.

We know that some of our readers will be disappointed that we are not providing the window into Canadian healthcare, particularly current events, that you are used to. Especially Alan Brough’s weekly editorials. But bear with us. More than that, take the time to contribute. Whether you are a paid member (and who doesn’t need funds to make things happen!) or simply enjoy the newsletter, we are all invested in creating better health for Canadians. The CHA can always improve. You can help us do that.

Sincerely,

Stephen Malthouse
CHA Board Member – info@canadahealthalliance.org

One CHA Director’s View:
Why CHA
Membership is so Important

Hello to all readers,

I have been a member of the CHA Board of Directors since 2022.

You may not know it, but members of the board of directors receive no remuneration for their work. We put in plenty of time. Working for the Canada Health Alliance is truly a labour of love.

For over 40 years I worked as a medical doctor with an orthomolecular approach (using natural molecules) to help people recover from disease and maintain their health. I felt blessed because I truly loved my work. I was privileged to be able to meet and exchange ideas with a wide variety of remarkable people every day, to discuss health issues that profoundly affected their lives.

Four years into “retirement”, I am now working as a Health Coach and as a CHA director, with a group of people who share my passion for helping, teaching, learning and making a meaningful difference in our communities.

The CHA publishes a weekly newsletter, hosts monthly national Zoom call guests, organizes a yearly retreat-conference (Self Care is Health Care) and organizes online classes, where knowledge is shared in an effort to empower people to take charge of their health and well-being. We have an advocacy team that pushes back against institutional overreach and promotes free choice for consumers.

For this organization to continue providing inspiration and information of the highest calibre to those who are searching for it, the CHA requires funding. Obviously, as in any association, there are obligatory, ongoing expenses that cannot be avoided, but funding is also required in order to launch educational and advocacy programmes.

This short article is a request for more of you to become paying members of the Canada Health Alliance, especially those of you who are not already members, yet share our values and benefit from the weekly newsletter.

We are trying to raise funds through sponsorship and donations, but, for the most part, through an increase in paid memberships.

Membership in CHA costs $100 per year – just 27 cents per day!

Or you can sign up for an automatic withdrawal of $10/month.

If you are able, please help support our work to educate, share, inspire and support the health of Canadians.

Click on “Join CHA” and follow the instructions.

Thank you.
